In response to the jewelry industry pain points of "small size, high value, and regulatory difficulties ", as well as to enhance the transparency of various aspects in the jewelry and jade supply chain, to establish information interconnection and credibility mechanisms, CGE takes traceability standards as the starting point, combines information platform development with intellectual property protection, and strives to create a traceability system service matrix.

Recently, the national standard "Jewelry and Jade Traceability System Service Specification" (hereinafter referred to as "Traceability National Standard") jointly drafted by CGE and the Shanghai Institute of Measurement and Testing Technology has been officially released. This standard will be implemented from December 1, 2023. Previously, the national standards for the jewelry industry in China were all developed based on the product testing. Traceability National Standard has become the first national standard for service in the jewelry industry, in order to solve the contradiction of information asymmetry in various aspects of the jewelry supply chain and promote the postive development of the industry chain.

Focusing on the application of Traceability National Standard, CGE has created the "CGE’s Traceability System" and solely developed an information service platform. This platform has the ability to trace the entire process of jewelry and jade circulation with automate supervision. It can be used through a single window of China (Shanghai) international trade, opening up a new model of combining online and offline digital trade services, and further enhancing the regulatory goals of jewelry and jade with "known sources, traceable destinations, and controllable risks".

In the first half of this year, CGE has reached a new round of cooperation with E&P International, which is a pioneer in the field of logistics informatization at domestic ports, to jointly establish the APAC Gemstone Traceability Innovation Service Demonstration Association. The jointly developed “APAC Gemstone Traceability Service Platform" was officially launched on June 13 and can be used in a single window of China (Shanghai) international trade. Both parties will mainly focus on jewelry and jade products, relying on the platform advantages of the Silk Road e-commerce, a project of the municipal government, aim to improve the information transparency and traceability of jewelry and jade products in the import process. To further enhance China's level of facilitation and influence in international jewelry trade, and gradually demonstrate the agglomeration effect of transactions.

CGE attaches great importance to technological innovation and adheres to innovation as the primary driving force for development. It has been recognized as a national high-tech enterprise for six consecutive years. A series of breakthroughs have been made in the field of jewelry and jade traceability in China, with nearly a hundred achievements obtained, such as software copyrights, invention patents, utility model patents, and more applications in progress. At the same time, CGE is actively promoting the application of international patents and expanding international application scenarios.

Promoting the construction of the "CGE’s Traceability System" is not only a glorious mission entrusted by the state to CGE, but also will help China continuously enhance its voice and influence in the international jewelry industry. CGE is looking forward to and welcoming more institutions to cooperate deeply with, and jointly improve this very system.
