Nine national jewelry laboratories and industry institutions, including National Gemstone Testing Center (NGTC), Thailand Jewelry Institute (GIT), Gemological Institute of India (GII), China Gems and Jade Exchange Center (CGE), etc. The founding members jointly launched the Asia-Pacific Jewelry Standardization Technology Alliance (AGA) in Shanghai.

The purpose of establishing AGA is to establish a working mechanism in the form of an alliance to coordinate everyone's different positions and viewpoints in the jewelry appraisal process, and to resolve the differences in standards and technologies between different laboratories. By jointly formulating common standards, guidelines and rules, conducting technical exchanges, comparisons and technical training among AGA member laboratories, and providing professional opinions and suggestions for problems encountered by enterprises and consumers. Realize the smooth docking of laboratory technologies and markets in different countries and regions, disseminate correct jewelry knowledge and technology culture, guide correct consumption concepts and consumption habits, and jointly cultivate a healthy jewelry market.
